Welcome to the website for Southern Express Girls Softball! Our site is currently under construction. Check back to see the changes and catch-up on some of the good things going on in our organization! Southern Express is the longest running girls’ competitive travel softball program in the southern part of Illinois. We have teams competing at various age levels: 10 and under through 18 and under. In late summer (usually late July or early August), tryouts are held for various age groups. Each team has a regional mix of the best players found in southern Illinois (and surrounding states). Teams play a limited fall schedule, practice during the winter months, and play throughout the spring and summer. Most teams, on average, play an eight tournament schedule. And most teams generally end their season with a trip to one of the sanctioned national tournaments hosted throughout the country. For older teams, coaches strive to select various college-exposure tournaments to attend during the summer months. At Southern Express, we take pride in our softball program and our softball “families.” Our girls are some of the best in southern Illinois!
